Each one of us in our limited life of 60 or 70 odd years attends finite number of programs that are kept in honour of Imam Husain (as). But there is one man who has been commemorating this program more than any of us and at times even cried blood for Imam Husain (as).
Imam Husain (as) martyrdom by the hands of the likes of Yazeed (la), Ibn Ziyad (la) and Shimr (la) has been commemorated by the lovers of Ahlulbait (as) since hundreds of years.
We all cry for Imam Husain (as), we have seen many who shed blood, but who have we ever seen crying blood? Imagine the love of that person whose wilayah is so strong that he understands the true position of Aba Abdillah, so as to be able to cry blood for him. That person is none other than our awaited Imam (atfs)
Imam Mahdi (atfs) through his own words in the Ziyarat of Nahiya says:
“…..But as I have been hindered by the course of time and as (Allah’s) decree has prevented me from helping you, and as I could not fight those who fought you, and was not able to show hostility to those who showed hostility to you, I will, therefore, lament you morning and evening, and will weep blood in place of tears, out of my anguish for you and my sorrow for all that befell you, until I meet death from the pain of the catastrophe and the choking grief…..”
Can we ever love Imam Husain (as) that much to be able to cry blood for him? Surely no. But what can we do? There is something that is there in our hands, that will help us attain our thirst for revenge of Imam Husain (as) and help us see the reappearance of our awaited Imam (atfs).
We can pray for our 12th Imam (atfs) earliest reappearance, since Allah has promised us the revenge for the blood of the martyrs of Karbala through the hands of our 12th Imam.
In the verse 39 of Surah Haj,
Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them.(Translation)
It is narrated from Imam Sadiq (as) that it relates to the time after the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (atfs) when he will avenge the blood of Imam Husain (as). (1)
Imam Mahdi (atfs) himself has said, “We are the one who want revenge for the martyrdom of Imam Husain (as) and we are the ones who seek blood money” (2)
Imam Mahdi (atfs) in another narration states: “I pray for any believer who remembers the sufferings of my martyred grandfather, al-Husain (as) and then prays for my reappearance” (3)
Not only the revenge of Karbala, but Imam Mahdi (atfs) will be responsible for filling the world with justice and equity like no other leader could. Through him Allah will spread the earth with peace and prosperity. That is the time where the world will see the magnanimity of Allah through the Ahlulbait (as).
